1.0 Introduction The University of Limerick consists of a number of Colleges, Departments and Centres situated on the University of Limerick Campus. The University has 12,000 full- and part-time students and employs 1,200 full time staff. The University’s Building and Estates Department is responsible for the management of all buildings and facilities services contracts and will manage this contract on behalf of the University. The University requires an electrical services maintenance company to be responsible for the proper maintenance and upkeep of electrical services on campus. 2.0 Specification of Requirements 2.1 General Description of Service: Reporting to the Building Services Engineer, the selected Contractor will provide a general electrical maintenance service for University property in accordance with the schedule of accommodation below. The service will include the maintenance of electrical plant, equipment and services, as directed by the Buildings & Estates Department. The building maintenance and mechanical maintenance services will be carried out by other contractors. However, it will be necessary to carry out works in conjunction and liaison with these other contractors, on a continuous basis, as part of the daily maintenance programme and especially for minor works involving alterations to buildings.
