Works at Belleek Gate Lodge - Masonry repairs, roofing & associated conservation works at Belleek Gate Lodge, Ballina, Co Mayo : HTI 2023

The Scope of Works will involve works over a road, specialist traditional stone masonry pointing, grouting, specialist leadwork and associated conservation works. The proposed works comprise a new pitched roof structure with natural slating, lead ridges, valleys, flashings and catch pit, with a new cast iron hopper head and downpipe to a land drain system extending into the west wing area. Where dissolution of bedding mortar has occurred in the parapets and buttresses, the pointing will be backed up by a low-pressure grouting regime. In order to complete the external works, the contractor will need special masonry skills with knowledge and experience in lime work to best practice standards and will also require a competent lead worker capable of design and constructing leadwork to the Lead Sheet Association best practice standards. Lime hemp insulation is proposed to internal walls. The proposed works involves working in the vicinity of overhead powerlines and contractor liaison is required with the ESB to facilitate the completion of the Scope of Works.
