Re: Kerry College– Fume Extraction Upgrade

Dear Sirs,
On behalf of Kerry Education and Training Board you are invited to tender for the proposed Fume Extraction Upgrade Project at Kerry College Monavalley Campus,Monavalley, Tralee, Co Kerry, in accordance with the accompanying ‘Instructions to Tenderers’ and tender documents. Please refer to the attached schedule of documents and drawings for the full listing of tender documents.
Your tender should include the following documents.
Tenderers are strongly advised to visit and check the site relative to all aspects of the work and include for same in their tender. No claims whatsoever will be entertained by the Engineer due to the lack of knowledge of site conditions or existing installations.
Tendering contractors may visit the site by prior arrangement with Kerry ETB. Please email requests for site visit to the etenders messaging service to arrange an appointment for a site visit.
The appointed mechanical fume extract ventilation contractor will be required to operate in the building in a harmonious manner with the other contractors.
Declaration of Suitability
Tenderers are required to read the Declaration of Suitability for Contractors for Small Works carefully and to make sure that they meet the minimum standards stated therein. A copy of this document has been attached to this notice. If requested to do so tenderers must provide the necessary evidence of compliance stated in this document within 7 days, including evidence of annual turnover and Health & Safety competency. Tenderers who do not meet those requirements should not submit tender documents as they will be excluded at award stage.
Contract
The applicable works contract will be the OGP Services Contract . A copy of the conditions of this contract & is attached to this tender notice. The contract will be awarded based on the award critieri as set out within the. Please note that the lowest or any tender need not necessarily be accepted and the acceptance of any tender will be subject to the approval of funding.
There are no Contractor or Employer named specialists. All sub-contractors are domestic.
In addition to items outlined in the Declaration of Suitability for Contractors for Small Works, it is a condition precedent to the award of the contract that the successful tenderer will provide:
The contractor shall note that it is a requirement that The Contractor’s Public insurance must be extended to note Kerry ETB as an Additional Insured and a Non-Vitiation clause applied, similar notations are required under the Contractor’s Products Liability and Contract Works Insurances.
The contractor will be required to arrange for their insurers to provide evidence of their insurances confirming the extension noting Kerry ETB as an Additional Insured and a Non Vitiation clause applying.
Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS)
The successful tenderer will be appointed Works Contractor and Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) on the project in accordance with the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations.
Return of Tenders
The deadline for receipt of tenders is 12:00 Noon on Wednesday 24th May 2023. Tenders shall be submitted in electronic soft copy via the etenders tender box only.
Tenders submitted in any other manner, by post, in hand or via email will be deemed invalid tenders. Tenders submitted with an unsigned Form of Tender will likewise be deemed invalid tenders. The signature for the Form of Tender must be that of a Principal or Director of the firm. Tenders must be in the format prescribed in the Form of Tender and all required documents must be submitted. Late tenders will not be accepted.
All queries in relation to this tender competition must be submitted via the etenders messaging service as soon as possible and in any event not later than 4 working days before the latest time for receipt of tenders, although the Contracting Authority may at its discretion respond to queries raised after that date. All responses from the Contracting Authority to these queries will be circulated to all tendering contractors via the etenders messaging service.
The Department of Education & Skills is subject to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 1997. If a tenderer considers that any of the information supplied in response to this notice is either commercially sensitive or confidential, this should be highlighted and reasons for its sensitivity given .The relevant material will, in response to a request under the Act, be examined in the light of exemptions provided for in the Act.
