8214 - Rail Welding Services

This is a call to competition by IE for Rail Welding Services (the “Contract”). The provision of Track Welding Services includes the following services; • Aluminothermic rail welding, • Manual Metal Arc (MMA) and Grinding Repairs to plain rail and points & crossings (P&C), • P&C and plain rail Inspections and non-destructive testing. These services are an essential support to the delivery of IÉ’s day to day maintenance requirements and a minimum of six to seven crews made up of three welders may be required by IÉ on a single shift. The current contract expires on 14th January 2024. Provision of the following additional services may also be required during the term of the contract; • Plain rail and switch rail pressing, • Points care services, • Operation and maintenance of a mobile flashbutt or induction welder.
