Shackleton Museum - Alterations and extension of Athy Heritage Centre to provide for Shackleton Museum and exhibition spaces.

Reconfiguration, refurbishment and extension of existing, protected three-storey building. Two-storey glass and steel extension to south of building (by specialist designer and sub-contractor) will require partial demolition of central bay of existing façade. Internal re-configuration will include the removal of 1 no. mezzanine, 1 no. lift and 2 no. stairways, with the addition of 1 no. mezzanine, 1 no. lift and 2 no. stairways in different locations. Associated site works include connection to below ground utilities and landscaping. There will be concurrent works (outside of this contract) to the adjacent public realm and for the exhibition and museum display fit-out.
