BE/WK/02/11/2022 - Westport Depot, Co. Mayo - Replacement of Staff Facilities

Service enhancements on routes 423, 446 and 450 in November 2020 has increased the number of drivers based in Westport, resulting in the current facilities unsuitable for the number of staff based in Westport. The project comprises the replacement of current driver welfare facilities with enhanced and suitable driver accommodation on site. The works comprise of the removal of current facilities and the construction of a new 710 sq. ft. staff facility, which comprises of a lounge area, kitchen, store, toilet and accessible toilet. The new staff facility will be of block construction and faced with Liscannor stone and roofed with a mono pitch standing seam zinc roof. A planning application was granted in 2021 by Mayo County Council for the construction of a new 710 sq. ft. driver welfare building that will accommodate the welfare needs of both male and female staff, up to eight staff at any one time.
