31/RD/2022 - N11/N25 Oilgate to Rosslare Harbour Ground Investigation Contract

The proposed works comprise the construction of a 30km section of high quality road which will link Rosslare Europort/Wexford with both Dublin via the M11 and Cork/Waterford via the N25. The primary objections of the ground investigation are as follows: * To confirm ground conditions along the proposed road alignment. * To establish the nature, condition and depth of Made Ground, superficial deposits and bedrock that will impact upon the proposed alignment and associated structures * To determine the geotechnical properties of the materials encountered in order to inform the design of the scheme * To determine the chemical properties of the materials encountered, with respect to contaminate and concrete aggressivity * To determine the groundwater levels and water quality with respect to contamination where the scheme has potential to impact sensitive receptors.
