Cork City Council plans to regenerate a site c.9,000sqm site that spans from Tuckey Street, the Grand Parade and South Main Street. Initial assessment indicates that the site would accommodate.33,000sqm of a mixed use development, including a 7,700 sqm city library, office, residential, and commercial development along with amenity. The objective of the City Council is to deliver a new city library, and a mixed-use scheme that will add to the vibrancy of the city centre. The library should represent international good practice in relation to library development and urban regeneration. This is part of an overall regeneration of the area that includes public realm works on Tuckey Street and South Main Street and the redevelopment of Bishop Lucey Park. These works are supported by the Irish Government under the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund. The site is adjacent to the site of the 6,000 seat Events Centre. Cork City Council seeks to procure an multi disciplinary team to prepare a Preliminary Business Case in accordance with the Public Spending Codes
