The decision has been taken by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform to support the role of Single Scheme Pensions Administrators across the Irish Public Service by providing a means whereby a recognised QQI accredited qualification can be delivered through a Single Scheme-focused training programme. The intention underpinning the development of QQI-accredited training is to deliver it across the public service, targeting Pensions Administrators with responsibility for the Single Scheme. The key objectives of this information gathering exercise is to: (a) Determine the nature, structure and capacity of the market to develop and deliver a QQI-accredited Single Public Service Pension Scheme training programme, blending theoretical, legislative and practical elements and, (b) Determine and evaluate the resources required by stakeholders to develop and deliver across the public service a QQI-accredited programme, ascertaining the appropriate accreditation level on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
