TCC001351E - Engineering Consultancy Services for Cycle Lane Design adjacent to the N24 Clonmel,

Tipperary County Council has been granted funding under the Active Travel Fund to develop a design to improve cycle facilities on the N24 Clonmel. The scheme commences at the Moangarriff Roundabout to the east of Clonmel Town and has to tie into the existing two way cycle facility west of the R688 Cashel Road. The objective of the works should be to : • Provide a continuous segregated cycle lane, • Provide safe and convenient crossing points on the N24, • Provide safe and convenient crossings at each roundabout/junction along the cycle route, • Improved pedestrian facilities, ensuring minimum widths of 2m, improved and new crossings, appropriate widths, etc, • Upgrading links to schools, residential zones and businesses, where possible • Over 3,500 people live north of the N24 on the Cashel and Fethard Roads, the project should provide safe crossings to both of these residential areas, • Connect the cycleroute to the Suir Blueway just off the Moangarriff Roundabout at Careys Slip.
