7773 - Cork Line Level Crossings & Elimination Works

ELIMINATION / UPGRADE WORKS FOR SIX EXISTING LEVEL CROSSINGS ON THE DUBLIN TO CORK RAILWAY LINE There are currently six (6) manned public road level crossings in operation on the Dublin to Cork line between Limerick Junction and Mallow stations. The crossings are located within a 15 mile/24 km section of the line between 122 miles 808 yards and 137 miles 315 yards, which straddles the Cork/Limerick county boundary. Planned proposals for the elimination/de-manning of these level crossings include: (a) full closure (extinguishment of the public right of way across the level crossing), (b) provision of alternative access across the railway line through the construction of an access road and/or overbridge and A specific design solution for each crossing has been developed through the use of multi-criteria analysis Full details can be found in the attached Pre-Qualification Questionnaire document.
