Rhodo Connemara NP - Request for Tenders by the Department of the Housing, Local Government, and Heritage (NPWS) for Rhododendron Clearance at Connemara National Park, Letterfrack, Co. Galway.

The RFT has ended, you cannot answer the invitation.

The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage (National Parks and Wildlife Service - NPWS) invites tenders for the provision of the works in relation to eradication/mamangement of Rhododendron at Connemara National Park. The proposed works are to occur in an area of c250 ha in total, and will be divided over five Lots. Connemara National Park lies immediately southeast of the village of Letterfrack, County Galway. It covers approximately 2000ha. The park consists of mountain habitats, woodlands and rivers. Approximately 500 hectares of the park’s habitats have been infested with invasive Rhododendron Ponticum. The rhododendron significantly prevents woodland regeneration resulting in a poor age structure of the native woodlands within the park and engulfs open mountain habitat as an invasive species.
