Works to Secure the Structural Integrity of Youghal Town Walls (Section O - Jail Steps), Youghal, Co. Cork

The works comprise the consolidation of a section of Youghal Town Wall, a National Monument. The extent of the works is indicated on the tender drawings and in the schedule of work in the Particular Specification below. The collapse is currently in a delicate condition. A section of the wall face is arching over the collapse and the concrete footpath on the wall-walk is spanning the breach. The site is not readily accessible to machinery. Dismantling the masonry over the breach will be difficult to undertake in a safe manner.
