Waterways Ireland requires a service provider to undertaken validation of data from visitor counters along the newly opened 130km Royal Canal Greenway. See www.royalcanalgreenway.org Reliable data is the basis upon which we can attribute “values” in terms of economic impact, job creation, as well as social, health & wellbeing benefits. This exercise is a first stage in validating the data and stratifying the range of users on the Royal Canal Greenway. Waterways Ireland is in the process of developing other water-based and water-side trails on its extensive inland waterway network and promoting these as Blueways and Greenways.Following on from the initial contract Waterways Ireland wishes to set up a Framework for the future provision of Visitor Monitoring and Interpretation services in relation to other trails.
