Coastal Protection Works - Kilfenora Coastal Protection Scheme

Kerry County Council proposes to carry out an extension to the rock armour revetment at Kilfenora, Fenit, Co. Kerry. The existing cliff face has become very steep and is at risk of further erosion and collapse. In addition the road fronted by the cliff is at risk of undermining and requires extensive stabilisation works including rock armouring and retaining fill material. The works shall consist of the scope of works shown on the drawings and specifications including as a summary: • Provide, maintain and dismantle safe access to the works; • Provide, maintain and dismantle traffic management for the duration of the works; • Disposal offsite of waste materials generated on site; • Set-up of suitable works plant and equipment; • Protection of existing services; • Storage of material; • Excavations; • Site clearance; • Rock armoring and placement of fill against existing slope • Adherence to environmental constraints; • PSCS role for the duration of the works.
