The Health Research Board (HRB) is a state agency that supports research and provides evidence to prevent illness, improve health and transform patient care. The HRB has 65 staff. Our annual budget is in excess of €45m and we manage a research investment portfolio of approximately €200m. The agency is funded mainly by the Department of Health, and Board members are appointed by the Minister for Health. The HRB uses an online grant management system called GEMS to manage all aspects of grant management. There is an ongoing requirement for a GEMS Systems Administrator to fulfil all the requirements as listed below for a period of up to two years. The initial contract will be for a period of six months with three extensions of six months up to a maximum of twenty four months. The role is expected to commence by 1st September 2021 . The GEMS Systems Administrator provides the following services for the HRB: • Single point of contact for all GEMs technical issues within HRB • Form Building for further coming schemes • Investigates requests, incidents and problems on the system. Escalates issues to appropriate areas. Investigates and troubleshoot issues and communicates appropriately to internal and external customers. • Raises new issues and form push requests with Vendor of GEMS (CC Technology) • Provides data and reports on trends on helpdesk issues, requests and incidents; • Puts in place enhanced reporting structures for early identification of system faults to minimise impact on business; • Keeps internal staff updated on all changes; • Overseeing the successful upgrades to the latest version of GEMS. • Defines and monitors procedures for modifying any new versions of GEMS: • Tests any new updates or changes to the system and defines and monitors an approval process for all system changes; Further detail is provided in Appendix 1
