St. Finian's N.S. SEN Extension - St. Finian's N.S. Special Educational Needs Extension & Upgrades

1) Demolition works will involve; the removal of an existing external shelter, water tower, removal of existing corridor connecting double doors and wall reveal, new window ope in Office 1, new external door ope’s to Classroom’s 2, 3 & 4, removal of a wall in the old Principal's office and removal of the roadside wall for construction access. It is not thought that the demolition work will involve asbestos, however, the contractor is to satisfy himself with the attached reports that there are no asbestos containing materials in the works areas. The contractor should engage a suitably qualified and approved sub-contractor for any asbestos removal works. 2) Construction of the single storey extension and shelter comprising of; substructure, foundations, rising walls and floors, internal and external block walling and roofing. External and internal finishes to the extension, shelter, new Resource Room, Office 1 including plastering, windows and doors, internal joinery, painting, tiling, suspended ceilings, flooring and all other internal finishes. 3) External works will include the removal of the east and west boundary mature trees, erection of both steel and timber fencing, tarmacadam to the front of the site including the widening of the existing driveway, concrete footpaths to the side, rear and enclosed courtyards of the extension, new stormwater drains and connections to existing services such as water and the wastewater treatment system. 4) Play areas will include a new Sensory Garden, a new Secure Play Area and a new soft play area in the large enclosed courtyard. 5) Installation of PV panels on the roof surface and ancillary services. 6) New replacement shelter. 7) Canopies to the proposed front and rear doors of the extension along with a canopy to the existing main school front entrance.
