7600 - Supply of de-icer products

Iarnród Éireann has approximately 140 stations and 40 workshops across its network for which Granular and Liquid (propylene glycol) de-icer product may be required to address snow and ice during adverse weather conditions from platforms, station access routes, car parks, footbridges, other outdoor areas plus rolling stock, brake rigging, door seals, couplers, strategic exposed pneumatic components and on rail track junctions The core requirements are: • Supply of granular de-icer • Supply of Liquid de-Icer • Delivery and distribution of these products to various locations Nationwide across the Iarnród Éireann network; • Continuity of supply during peak requirement periods. Granular de-icer should meet environmental, safety, non-hazard and non-corrosive standards. The de-icer shall be a treated sodium chloride with corrosion inhibitors. The corrosion inhibitors/anti-corrosion properties shall provide protection against salt induced corrosion of exposed metal surfaces and platform surfaces and markings, it shall be a ready to use product that provides a fast and effective no mess alternative to rock salt. The de-icer should have high de-icing capabilities to melt ice and snow already present and to prevent ice formation. Liquid de-icer must be a propylene glycol otherwise known as propane 1.2 diol
