Donadea Forest Park is a designated National Heritage Area situated in northwest Co Kildare less than 30 miles from Dublin. It has been in state ownership since 1935 and a forest park since 1981. The ruined castle dates from the 16th century and a free-standing tower to the south west of the castle, formerly connected internally was added c.1837. This has at least three floors and is approximately 16m high at roof level and roughly 6m x 6m in plan (externally). There is no known basement. At roof level a projecting battlement rests on decorative stone corbels and has a battlement walk above the level of the roof proper. The tower has one small stairs connecting all levels, this is stone at the ground floor and timber to the levels above. The upper floors are also of timber construction. Recently the lead roof covering was removed and the roof construction and interiors below are now exposed to the elements. The rooms at first and second floor level have decorative timber and plasterwork features. The aim of the works is to repair the roof and access to this from below Please note that all responses should be submitted using the Supplier Management System (SMS) Proactis
