Architect OR Engineer Led Integrated Design Team for Áras Scéalta an Atlantaigh

Áras Scéalta an Atlantaigh is an innovative Tourism Hub & Spoke development in Eachléim to be developed and owned by Údarás na Gaeltachta in the North Mayo Gaeltacht. The facility will be leased to Comhlacht Forbartha Ionad Deirbhile who will manage the day-to-day operations of Áras Scéalta An Atlantaigh Planning permission Pl. Ref. P19/365 has been secured for the proposed unit and is subject to 11 conditions. Refer to Appendix 1. Permission has been granted for the extension of 732sqm to the existing 103sqm Ionad Deirbhile. Funding for the project has been secured through RRDF and all construction works must be completed by December 2021 to ensure funding drawdown. It is envisaged that a full set of design drawings and specifications for construction should be published on etenders no later October 2020. A Contractor should be starting on site no later than January 2021. The Hub (732sqm in total) will comprise of the following: The addition of 302 sqm to an existing 103sqm Visitor Centre (405sqm Total) The development of 4 Craft Units comprising a total area of 211sqm . The development of 4 Tourism Innovation/Incubation Spaces comprising 140sqm The Hub will include: (see Appendix 2 for lay-out details) Reception/ Visitor Information Centre area • Genealogy Hub • 2 Exhibition areas, one of which will also serve as an events space • Café and orientation area • 4 Craft Units • 4 Tourism Innovation /Incubation spaces The Tourism Innovation/Incubation Spaces will consist of a number of serviced offices where new or existing businesses with a focus on developing tourism products or services can start up and develop in a clustered Innovation / incubation environment and will be able to take advantage of the marketing efforts of the hub to attract customers.
