Consultancy services are required by DFAT to conduct a joint review of DFAT’s international agricultural research and knowledge transfer (KT) for development partnerships with Teagasc and CGIAR. It is envisaged that the successful consultant(s) will analyse and report on: 1) the inputs and outcomes of the three areas of collaboration in the Teagasc MoU agreement and 2) the principles of engagement in the DFAT-CGIAR programme document and provide recommendations on future engagement for each institution and on possible synergies between both (and other Irish institutions such as Sustainable Food Systems Ireland and/or Irish academic institutions). To assist with the identification of possible synergies and joint frameworks/programmes between both institutions, the consultant(s) will identify, analyse and extrapolate key lessons from existing programmes/relationships between CGIAR and the domestic agricultural research and extension institutions of other CGIAR donor countries. DFAT and Teagasc colleagues will support the consultant(s) with identifying 2-4 Donor programmes/frameworks to prioritize such as Finland’s FoodAfrica Programme.
