HSE12816 - Supply of Intraosseous Access Devices to National Ambulance Service

[EndedMessage]

Intraosseous Access Devices can be defined as the needle sets and associated accessories and components required to provide Intraosseous Vascular Access. The NAS requires a battery powered drill based Intraosseous Vascular Access system due to the minimal force required for insertion, speed of insertion and Vascular Access success rate, which are all critical pre-requisites for the type, and level of care routinely provided by the NAS. The system must be battery powered because manual-powered insertion is not suitable for NAS use and alternative sources of power may not be available particularly at roadside incidences.
