Bord Iascaigh Mhara 2019 - trawl door and sensor technology.

The RFT has ended, you cannot answer the invitation.

The successful tenderer shall supply a wireless net monitoring and catch detection system that will enhance BIM’s capacity in data acquisition of trawl configurations during gear trial studies. The net monitoring system will be suitable for multi-rig configurations, i.e. include at least two sets of wing/door sensors with centre clump compatibility and is easily upgradable with additional sensors (e.g. catch, symmetry, etc.), depending on future requirements. It is essential that the net monitoring system is standalone and can be easily transferred between vessels. The system should also have integrated plotter software (with GPS) and the capability to link with other hardware found onboard fishing vessels (e.g. depth sounders, speed through water sensors, load cells, etc.). The system should have the capability to monitor crustacean as well as fish catches entering the codend. An additional requirement would be the capability to measure distance between the trawl (sensor) and the vessel (hydrophone) to facilitate assessment of trawl performance.
