Scope for the procurement of Sale & Removal of Loose Scrap Metal – Tender Ref: 150277

Iarnród Éireann (IE) invites suitably qualified companies to participate in a pre-qualification process for the procurement of and sale & removal of loose scrap metal.

 

Iarnród Éireann (IE) is seeking to enter into a long term agreement with a specialist company with a demonstrable track record in this area.

 

This contract involves the collection of designated scrap metal materials, the measurement of such materials, the removal of such materials and payment for such materials to be made to Iarnród Éireann (IE).

Designated Scrap Metal Materials

The scrap metal materials are primarily of the following types:

·        Wheel and axels

·        Nuts, Bolts

·        Scrap Engine parts

·        Scrap steel

·        Swarf

·        Air filters which are a paper element encased in a steel shell

·        Such additional material types of a similar nature to those listed above as may be advised by IE to the successful Contractor during the term of the Contract. 

The successful Contractor upon award of any contract shall place the required skip on site at each location. 

The contractor must report to and liaise with the IE Depot Supervisor regarding the placement of such containers.

IÉ’s full requirements are contained within a technical specification which will be issued to a shortlist of the most suitable companies following the pre-qualification process.

This competition is a 2 stage process being conducted under the negotiated procedure.

Stage 1: To be considered for inclusion to the shortlist of companies who will be issued with ITT documentation, you are required to upload onto e-tenders all relevant information/documents required as part of this notice along with your completed PQQ questionnaire. Companies will be measured and scored in line with the advertised selection criteria. 

 Stage 2: A shortlist of companies will be provided with ITT documentation via e-tenders.
