60600905 - Electrical Upgrade of LV Switchroom and associated works at Unit 507 IDA Industrial Park, Cork Road, Waterford

Scope of Works • A new main distribution board to replace the existing. Incoming & outgoing device sizes to be provided to match the existing. • A new power factor correction cubicle (200kVAr) with harmonic filtering to be provided. • Surge Protection to be provided to new panel MB1 (Type 1, 2 & 3). • New earth bar and bonding to be installed in switchroom. • Strip out of all existing armoured cables from above the main switchroom to each of the panels within the warehouse. This will require access / removal of the suspended ceiling in office areas. • New XLPE/SWA/LSF cables from MB1 to all existing panels (15no. identified). Cables sized to match existing. • New ladder rack containment to be provided within the switchroom, existing cable tray to be reused within the warehouse. • 2no. new distribution boards to be installed in switchroom, to replace existing (DB1A & DB1B) • New general lighting, emergency lighting & power outlets to be provided in switchroom • New FA detector, sounder & break glass unit to be provided to switchroom, to be connected to the nearest existing FA loop. • Testing & commissioning of the new installation. Existing Distribution Boards: The distribution boards appear to be in good condition but unable to verify that all devices are functioning due to no power being available. The Contractor shall allow to retest all distribution boards and ensure all are made safe & a report provided on the operational condition of each. Refer to the LV schematic and O&M manuals for details of the existing distribution boards. Existing Fire Alarm System: It is unknown whether the existing fire alarm system is fault free and in working condition as no power available to verify. The Contractor is to provide a cost as part of the Tender for testing & recommissioning of the full fire alarm system and interfaces. Existing system type & layout drawings are available in the O&M manuals.
