Lawrencetown works - This contract refers to the construction of an access road, a car park and a MUGA pitch as well as ground works, lighting, drainage and ancillary items in Lawrencetown Village, Ballinasloe, Co

The project is for the construction of access road and car parking area to serve the existing Laurencetown National School and a MUGA playing field. The access road and car parking will also serve future community facilities within the overall site boundary. The extent of the works is broken into two sections, with works for phase 1 funded and phase 2 works subject to funding confirmation. It is intended to proceed immediately with the phase 1 works and it is anticipated that the inclusion of phase 2 works will be determined prior to the award of the contract. The works are detailed on the contract drawings. Other work items include (but not limited to): • Reconfiguration of existing school boundary to front, and part of the side boundary, to incorporate existing set down area into front school yard and relocate the side wall to facilitate new access road layout. • Works to the school boundary shall include re-positioning of existing gate to front boundary and new gate to side boundary (vehicular and pedestrian). • External hard surfaces including concrete footpath and tarmacadam access road (with kerbed edging) with road markings and signage. • Pipelines, gullies, soakaways and petrol interceptor for disposal of surface water run off. • New watermain from the existing roadside connection. • Other external works including ducting for Eir, ESB and public lighting, including access chambers. • Provision of new sheepwire fencing to replace the existing fence on the eastern boundary of the site. • Provision of 40x20m MUGA playing surface with fencing, lighting, drainage and line markings and perimeter walkway/path. • Steel storage shed with concrete base. • Sheltered footpath consisting of timber cladded walls and fibreglass roof. • Steel frame sheltered bicycle parking area.
