Central Remedial Clinic
The Central Remedial Clinic is a publicly-funded Section 38 Agency and one of the largest organisations for people with disabilities in Ireland.
It is a non-residential national centre for the care, assessment, treatment and development of children and adults with disabilities, and specialises in the area of physical disability. Services are provided for people with conditions ranging from the very rare to the more familiar.
The CRC works with approximately 4,000 children and adults with disabilities throughout Ireland, and has two main centres in Dublin: Clontarf and Clondalkin; two regional centres: Limerick and Waterford; and three local centres in Dublin: Coolock, Hartstown and Firhouse.
In addition to its clinical services, delivered by a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team of professionals, the CRC is the patron of two schools for children with physical and multiple disabilities, providing education for children from 3 to 18 years of age. Funded by the Department of Education and Skills, these schools are located in Clontarf, Dublin, and Clondalkin, Dublin.
The CRC also provides daily on-going support through 4 local centres to adults with disabilities and training programmes for adult service users.
The CRC WTE currently stands at 231, excluding staff in the two schools, which together employ an additional 126 WTE.
Information about the CRC including the most recent annual report, accounts and its services can be found on its website: (http://www.crc.ie/)
The canteen in CRC in Clontarf offers a variety of food and beverages. Our main kitchen plates up over 250 meals a day, including hot meals to the school children attending the CRC school and adults attending training courses and programmes. We also provide food for staff, families and clients to purchase in the canteen from 9.30am until 3.30pm each day.
