As an innovator in the development of Engineering Education the School is currently seeking to enhance the range of programmes offered and is seeking to incorporate both knowledge and understanding of sustainable engineering design within its programmes. The Department of Metal Fabrication, Sheetmetal work and Welding is now a discipline within the school structure of Manufacturing Technology with more than fifty years of experience in providing Engineering education and training and, in particular to the areas of Metal Fabrication and welding. The Discipline of Manufacturing Technology requires new up to date equipment to facilitate the delivery of the new Metal Fabrication syllabus version 4.1. The previous syllabus was written in 2003 and the existing equipment is not up to the required technical standard required to deliver the new syllabus. Delivery, installation or commissioning of all new equipment will be in DIT Linenhall, Dublin 1.
