170331 UCC Asbestos Framework - UCC Establishment of Multi-supplier framework of specialist contractors for Removal & Disposal of Asbestos Containing Materials and Contract at No 1 Lapps Quay & No 16 Parnell Place

UCC invites responses (“Tenders”) to this Request for Tenders (“RFT”) from suitably qualified firms (“Tenderers”) for the provision of the works as described in the attached Works Requirements (“the works”) This RFT relates to Removal & Disposal of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) at No 1 Lapps Quay & No 16 Parnell Place Constructed in the 1850’s 1 Lapps Quay and 16 Parnell Place are three storey buildings built using the traditional methods for the era of construction. The buildings have solid concrete floors with timber floors at intermediate levels. The external walls are of solid construction with cut stone finish. The roof consists of a partial pitched roof with a natural slate finish & a section of flat roof with a parapet surround. The heating system consists of a centralised boiler plant with distributed pipework in risers and ductwork running throughout the building. Messrs OHSS carried out an asbestos survey to HSG264 requirements for the purposes of identifying asbestos containing materials in the premises(s) which are to be removed and disposed prior to the refurbishment of the area.
