Invitation to Tender for a Vending Trade Concession at Bull Island, Clontarf, Dublin 5.

This contract has been awarded to Container Cafe Ltd., on the 2nd May 2017. Two companies applied. Dublin City Council proposes to award a contract, for the provision of a trade concession on Bull Island, adjacent to the North Bull Wall. The North Bull Wall lies on the southern side of Bull Island, which is a nature reserve of international importance. The island is man-made. In 1821, the 1 kilometre long North Bull Wall was constructed and gradually sand accumulated behind the wall leading to the formation of Bull Island. It is now 5km in length and 1 km wide, and covers an area nearly 15km squared in size, including both land and seashore, in North Dublin Bay. Bull Island is one of three National Special Amenity Areas in Ireland. Dublin City Council is seeking proposals from interested parties with a proven track record who would like to receive a trade concessino for the operation of a tra/coffee and associated refreshments concession (a fixed temporary unit) in the location set out in the attached maps (maps 1 and 2 of Appendix E). Due to the fact that the location is situated in the Bull Island Nature Reserve and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and is close to a number of protected structures (bathing shelters and the wooden bridge), mobile concessions are not considered suitable for this location. Tenderers are asked to prepare submissions in accordance with the requirements as set out in the attached documentation.
