The Bank as part of its new organisation design structure has created a career framework. This career framework consists of a number of elements including the Bank’s career management Philosophy, Guiding Principles, Role Profiles, Job Families and a focus on Career Conversations. Leveraging the work completed as part of our organisation review programme the Bank has aligned all role profiles to a primary, secondary and tertiary job family to support employees and managers to navigate and understand the internal jobs market and career options available at the Bank. The Bank’s Career Framework organises roles within the Bank according to career bands, manager vs individual contributor career paths and into job families. In this way providing employees with insights into all roles that exist across the Bank and providing transparency around the potential career paths and options available to staff depending on their skills set, experience, qualifications, development needs and career aspirations. Supporting the career framework and bringing it to life is the employee/manager relationship and career development conversations. Having completed this bespoke work to design and develop a career framework for the Bank we are now looking to build further on this work by supporting our employees to better plan, develop and manage their own careers. To do this we wish to supply employees with a Career Management Portal service through which they can access content, thought leadership, resources and supports on the subject of career management and development.
