Donegal Countywide Watermains Rehabilitation Project – Main Works Contract includes the following elements: • Contractor design & construction of approximately 43km of new watermains at the following locations throughout County Donegal: o Ballybofey-South Back Line, 9.3km o Derrybeg to Brinnaleck, 4.7km o Doaghmore, Fanad, 4.4km o Three Trees, Quigleys Point,3.4km o Meenaleck to Ranafast, 3.2km o Carlin, Kerrykeel, 2.4km o Argery to Rossgier, 2.0km o Cabry, Redcastle, 1.6km o Sheskinbeg, 1.4km o Finner-Dunmuckrum, 3.9km o Corker, 4.2km o Bundoran West End, 1.3km o Ballyshannon Town (backyard services), 0.6km o Abbeylands, 1.0km • The watermains will range in diameter from 50mm OD to 250mm OD; • The transfer of existing connections to the new mains where necessary; • Works will take place across and in close proximity to protected structures at several locations; • Works will take place in proximity to Special Areas of Conservation and Special Protection Areas; • Contaminated land may be encountered during the works; • Invasive species have been identified at some of the works locations • Heavy traffic conditions are expected at some of the proposed works locations; • The works will involve crossings of existing rivers and streams
