16-033 - Electrical Services Upgrade Works at Tallaght Community School

The project involves the disconnection, strip out and disposal of the existing electrical services installations and the supply and installation of complete new systems in the areas of the building indicated on the accompanying drawings. The following existing services installed in these areas shall be retained and shall be left fully operational on completion of the works: • Heating system components • Door access control system • Fire detection and alarm system • Class change bell system • Intruder alarm system • CCTV system • ID/Clock-in system • Gas Pressure Proving system. A detailed breakdown of the entire works is a follows: • Disconnecting, stripping out and disposing of existing main switchboard, distribution boards and associated submains cables; • Disconnecting, stripping out and disposing of existing cables, cableways. fittings, switchgear, etc. in the areas to be upgraded; • Supplying and installing a new custom built Main switchboard; • Supplying and installing new custom built distribution boards; • Supplying and installing new electrical cableways and cables. Existing containment shall be retained and re-used where deemed acceptable by the Engineer; • Rewire of general services; • Rewire of general lighting services; • Rewire of emergency lighting; • Rewire telecommunications services; • Install new wiring to serve new digital public address system. Existing system to be retained and left operational; • Prior to any works commencing: - Organising furniture and equipment in rooms to allow access to carry out works - Covering and protecting future, IT equipment, smartboards, catering equipment, shelving, etc. with plastic covered to avoid dust and debris collecting. • Builder’s work including: - Coring and drilling through walls to cater for new cable trays and trunking; - Dismantling protective metal sheet cladding around existing trays and trunking in corridors in order to install cable ways and re-installing o
