16-030 - Gas and Mechanical Upgrade Works

The project involves the upgrade of the existing gas installations within the existing Science Laboratories. The works also include the disconnection and removal of the existing Gas Fired Boiler serving the 2000 Building and the installation of a new boiler upgraded to cater for the increased demand associated with the two storey extension. In addition the project includes the upgrade of the controls associated with the 2000 Bulding Plantroom and the installation of a new circuit to serve the two storey extension. A detailed breakdown of the entire works is a follows: • Replace all classroom taps • Remove all wood panelling concealing pipework in practical rooms and replace pipework • Replace gas proving system with modern system to meet current day school requirements • Paint all exposed gas pipework • Upgrade gas boiler and flue system • Disconnect the new heating circuit serving the recent extension and extend back direct to plantroom to help improve heat up times in the new extension and original building.
