The Vehicle Clamping Act 2015 provides for the regulation by the NTA of clamping activities in clamping places throughout the State. Under the Act, which commenced on the 1st October 2017, the NTA has established an Appeals Procedure to determine appeals from persons whose vehicles have been clamped or relocated. In that regard, the NTA designates persons as independent Clamping Appeals Officers to determine appeals received by NTA. NTA has also established complaints procedures under the Act to consider submissions from members of the public concerning aspects of clamping activities. The successful Tender will be appointed as a Clamping Appeals Officer in accordance with Section 21 of the Vehicle Clamping Act 2015. A Clamping Appeals Officer is required to consider and determine appeals made to NTA in accordance with Section 22 of the Vehicle Clamping Act 2015. A Clamping Appeals Officer may be required to investigate complaints concerning clamping activities submitted to NTA in accordance with Section 18 of the Vehicle Clamping Act 2015. On occasion a Clamping Appeals Officer may be requested to carry out additional tasks concerning vehicle clamping regulations.
