02/2016 - Refurbishment and Alteration Works to provide Audiology Unit

 The HSE Southern intend to relocate its Audiology Service to the ground floor of Block 2, St Finbarrs Hospital, Cork. The works comprise complete refurbishment of the ground floor Block 2; structural upgrade works to existing building; replacement of windows; fire compliance works; mechanical installations; electrical installations; installation of a platform lift between ground floor and first floor; minor reorganisatuion and refurbishment works at 1st floor; together with associated site and infrastructure works, to provide new Audiology Department. The audiology booths will be supplied and installed as a group 3 item and contractors will be required to provide the specialist audiology contractors with the necessary attendances to complete the works. The works will be completed within a fully live health campus site and the first floor will remain fully occupied for the duration of the works with no disruption to services allowable. In order to ensure the continued operation of the first floor areas and hospital services on campus the works will required to be phased, with sections completed on an ‘out of hours basis’ to minimise disturbance. A high level of management, safety, dust & infection control procedures will be required on site. It is anticipated that the construction works will take approximately 6 months, commencing in Q2,2016.
