Background The Health Research Board (“HRB”) is the lead agency in Ireland supporting and funding health research. We provide funding, maintain health information systems and conduct research linked to national health priorities. The Health Research Board’s mission is to improve people's health, build health research capacity and make a significant contribution to Ireland's knowledge economy. The latest Corporate Strategy clearly outlines how the HRB hopes to achieve this working in partnership with other organisations. Project Description The HRB would like to procure a Single Operator Framework Agreement for 24 months for the supply of a managed service for data management in the HRB’s National Health Information Systems (NHIS) . The main tasks associated with this service are: o Data coding and entry of forms onto an Access database. o Cleaning and querying cases of data returned. This will require some liaison with services on the data. o Data sorting, collating and matching. o Checking and querying electronic data. o Sending out validations to data providers. o Assisting NHIS staff with other tasks associated with data management as required The managed service selected should be in a position to supply personnel to work on site in the HRB’s offices. Governance The data management service will be overseen internally and work will be managed on an on-going basis by the Health Research Board. Specification The proposal submitted should cover all aspects of the data management process as set out above. The proposal should also include the following: • A detailed project plan • Reporting schedule and delivery of outputs • Proposed budget for the duration of the contract. Skills required It is essential that personnel provided have good Access and Excel skills, and previous experience in dealing with large-scale datasets. It is also essential that they have good administrative and communication skills. Training will be provided on-site.
