Upgrade of Building Facade following demolition of Flight Kitchen at Shannon Airport

The project will involve proposed new facade upgrade works to the building elevations following demolition of part of the existing adjoining building. The new facade area is approximately 524m sq. It will consist of 3 types of building construction: 1) Kingspan insulated double skin cladding on 215mm block wall, 2) Kingspan insulated double skin cladding on 215mm RC concrete structure, and 3) traditional 325mm cavity wall construction. The upgrade works also to include for 1) 28.5m of excavation to suitable foundation formation level and breaking out of existing slab prior to construction of new strip foundations; 2) 77m of RC beam dowelled into the existing concrete slab to support the new facade with the removal and replacement of part of the roof as necessatiated to tie in the new facade to the existing building structure.
