Competitiveness Frameworks Review

The RFT has ended, you cannot answer the invitation.

The National Competitiveness Council, established in 1997, reports to the Taoiseach (Prime Minister) and Government on key competitiveness issues facing the Irish economy and offers recommendations on policy actions required to enhance Ireland’s competitive position. Defining and understanding “competitiveness”, its determinants and methods of measurement are, therefore, crucial to the work of the Council. The National Competitiveness Council now wishes to re-examine its competitiveness framework. As part of this process, the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation is commissioning research on behalf of the National Competitiveness Council, to review current thinking and international best practice in relation to defining, measuring and enhancing national competitiveness. It is expected that the outputs of this work will assist the NCC to refine its own competitiveness framework (see www.competitiveness.ie) which facilitates the NCCs analysis of Ireland’s strengths, weaknesses and priority areas for policy action.
