PIN - Prior Information Notice - N59 Rossow Bends - 2km of Road Construction, Co. Mayo.

*** NOTE - Prior Information Notice Only - expected to go to Tender in February 2015 *** The section proposed for improvement will comprise of the construction of a Type 3 single carriageway (6.0m carriageway road with 0.5m hard strips and verges of approximately 2.0m to 3.0m) for a distance of 1.8km, with approximately 600m being constructed off-line. It is proposed to construct a cycleway 2.5m wide alongside the improved N59 for a distance of about 1.2km; remove the at- grade Greenway crossing at Kilmeena; tie into the southern end of N59 Kilbride scheme (completed 2012) and construct 2 new river bridges and 1 river bridge widening and improve 6 existing side road junctions. One of the new river bridges will incorporate an underpass to provide a grade separated crossing of the N59 for cyclists and walkers using the Greenway.
