Sheeps Head - The Works are likely to include, application of shotcrete, masonry repointing and repair, installation of anchors, grouting and general coastal protection works.

Expressions or interest are sought from suitably experienced civil engineering contractors who can demonstrate experience relevant to coastal protection works and the like, and who can mobilise sufficient plant and labour resources. Cork County Council has identified a number sections of the sea wall at Sheeps Head which are in need of remediation. The Works are likely to include, application of shotcrete, masonry repointing and repair, installation of anchors, grouting and general coastal protection works. The Works are located adjacent to tidal waters. All Works are located in environmentally sensitive habitats for flora and fauna. All Works shall be executed adjacent to live traffic. Cork County Council intends to procure these Works under one, or more, Contracts with candidates short-listed in accordance with the criteria stated in the attached QW1 questionnaire and associated documents. Candidates shall be capable of undertaking the role of Project Supervisor Construction Stage under the Safety, Health and Welfare (Construction) Regulations 2013. Candidates are required to have considerable experience in the area of coastal protection works. (a) Coastal Protection works including application of shotcrete, masonry repairs and repointing; (b) Coastal Protection works including installation of anchors; (c) Coastal Protection Works including installation of grout. Candidates shall demonstrate successful completion of 4 separate coastal protection contracts of minimum individual value of €100,000 (excluding VAT) within 5 years on the publication date of this notice. The information relating to the four projects submitted must include: (a) Coastal Protection works involving masonry repairs and pointing; (b) Coastal Protection works involving installation of anchors; (c) Coastal Protection works involving the application of shotcrete; (d) Coastal Protection works involving grouting.
