The Geological Survey of Ireland requires Public Relations Services to assist them with the delivery of the Tellus North Midlands project. The objective of Tellus North Midlands is to extend the airborne geophysical survey and ground-based geochemical survey of Tellus Border Project (www.tellusborder.eu) for counties Roscommon, Longford and Westmeath and adjacent parts of Mayo, Galway, Offaly, Kildare and Meath. The airborne geophysical survey, flying at a low level, will take place in an area encompassing approximately 5,840 km2. It is anticipated that two aircraft may be deployed by the airborne contractor to cover the area in the allotted time scale. The soil geochemical survey will take place over a larger area of 9,675 km2, to be undertaken by samplers working in pairs taking one sample every 4km2. The data collected is to provide high quality information for geological mapping, natural resources assessment and environmental management. All surveying will take place in 2014.
