BE/2014/04 - For the award of a single party framework for the Provision of Strategic Environmental Assessment and Appropriate Assessment Services

Fáilte Ireland wishes to establish a Single Party Framework Agreement for the provision of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Appropriate Assessment (AA) consultancy services compliant with the principles and requirements of the S.E.A. 2001/42/EC, European Communities (Environmental Assessment of Certain Plans and Programmes) Regulations 2004 to 2011 and the European Communities (1992) Council Directive 92/43/EEC (the Habitats Directive). From time to time Fáilte Ireland produces plans relating to tourism development. In some instances Strategic Environmental Assessment and/ or Appropriate Assessment of these plans may be required. At this stage the plans for which SEA and AA are required under the Framework are the following; • Wild Atlantic Way (WAW) Signature Tourism Initiative • Connemara Interpretation and Infrastructure Plan No further plans are envisaged at this stage but this situation may change over the course of the Framework period. The first of these such plans relates to the Wild Atlantic Way (WAW) and the successful tenderer will be required to commence work upon the SEAof the Wild Atlantic Way immediately upon appointment. The Framework contract will be awarded to the successful tenderer based upon ability demonstrated through experience of SEA/ AA, methodology set out for the WAW SEA, and the basket of costs for the WAW SEA and future works.
