Irish Lights ITT MBES - IRISH LIGHTS ITT For Supply of a Multibeam Echo Sounder

The commissioners of Irish Lights(CIL) require the instalation and commissioning of a new Multi Beam Echo Sounder(MBES) on their Aids to navigation Vessel the I.L.V. Granuaile

The ILV Granuaile is currently fitted with an ELAC multibeam data acquisition system.  This system is now to be replaced with a higher specification system.  The New Multibeam system must have the advanced features of deep water multibeams to the near bottom sounding environment which achieves:

Long range capability, Complete roll, pitch and yaw stabilization Nearfield focusing both on transmit and receive. Details of requirements are outlined in The RFT.

The Commissioners of Irish Lights (CIL) is the General Lighthouse Authority (GLA) for the island of Ireland, its adjacent seas and islands. .

 

CIL, together with along with Trinity House in England & Wales and Northern Lighthouse Board in Scotland, operates an integrated aids to navigation  (AtoN) service throughout the coastal waters of Ireland and Great Britain. The GLA meet the Irish and British Governments’ responsibilities under the International Maritime Organisation’s Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) convention. CIL is vested under the Merchant Shipping Acts in Ireland and the UK with the responsibility for superintendence and management of all aids to Navigation
