14 03 Dental Teaching Laboratory - Expansion and upgrading of Dental Teaching Laboratory at Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH)

The RFT has ended, you cannot answer the invitation.

The Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH) is currently seeking to establish a contract agreement with suitably qualified suppliers to replace its existing dental teaching units and associated equipment during the summer of 2014.

The winning contractor(s) will be required to upgrade Dublin Dental University Hospital’s dental teaching workstations. The teaching facilities are on the first floor of the Hospital building at Lincoln Place, Dublin 2. There are currently 40 student teaching workstations, a spare work station and a tutor station. The DDUH wishes to increase its capacity from 40 student teaching places to a minimum of 50 but ideally 52 as a result of this contract.

The new dental teaching workstations should remain in the general vicinity of the current equipment but the DDUH would welcome proposals on the configuration of the workstations to utilise the available space to its full potential. While the workstation dimension will be standardised from the manufacturer the most innovative layout and maximisation of workstations within the confines of the space available will be favoured. The workstation positions can be around the perimeter of the room with an internal island or can be in individual island groups.

The DDUH is mindful of technological advances in dental treatment units as well as infection prevention and control practices.  The DDUH welcomes technology over and above that specified in this tender for future proofing and for efficiencies in teaching students and infection prevention and control practices.

The DDUH will purchase equipment to operate efficiently for a minimum of 10 years and with this in mind we will endeavour to automate processes around the upkeep, service, maintenance, disinfection and performance of the dental units.

Further details on this competition are available in the attached documetation.

Due to the complexity of the nature of this contract a two phased open tender competition is being held.  Please see section five of the RFT document.  The closing date for receipt of tenders is 12 noon on Monday 14th April 2014.  Tenders by hard copy only to: Corporate Services Manager, Dublin Dental University Hospital, Lincoln Place, Dublin 2, Ireland.

Yours sincerely,
