2014 Ecological Surveys

Waterways Ireland is looking to enhance their knowledge of the ecology along the inland navigable waterways, especially along the Grand Canal Barrow Line, Grand Canal Edenderry Branch as well as part of the Royal Canal main line (Saunders Bridge – Ballinea Bridges) and the Lough Owel Feeder. These surveys will be used to update records of ecology, based on the original OPW reports from the early 1990s and be used to inform maintenance and capital projects, as appropriate.
