Procurement of IT Infrastructure - Procurement of IT Infrastructure servers/hosts for the EPA

The EPA intends to purchase two IT servers. These servers will each be identical and will be housed in EPA IT rooms, and owned by the EPA (i.e. a managed hosting service is not appropriate).The servers will be used as host servers for our Virtualised environment. Note: the host servers will be used in the EPA production/live environment and thus needs to be of adequate specification. The live environment is running VMware. Thus the EPA invites submissions for two servers that will each meet the following specification: • Rack mounted servers • 2 x 6 core processors per server (minimum 2.9Ghz) • 96GB RAM minimum per server • 3 x 146GB 15k SAS disks per processor • Dual power supply • Capable of being used in a VMware HA cluster with Intel Xeon processor servers • 2u minimum • 3 additional PCI slots available minimum Normal accessories for a server (including network cards) should also be provided with each. These accessories should all be listed and an overall cost per server provided. The servers must be a minimum of 2u in order to cater for necessary PCI slots.
