Dear Sir/Madam,

 

You are hereby invited to tender for the above described works. The deadline for submission of tenders is 03rd August 2013 and tenders are to be submitted to the secure post-box on the Etenders notice. The contract for the works will be the GCCC supply of equipment contract and the awarding of the contract shall be subject to Juice Hunt’s ability to obtain a LEADER grant for the works.

 

The selection criteria to be used for assessing the tenders will be as set out below with the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) being the contractor selected for the project (the contractor scoring the highest marks overall out of 100).

 

The requirement is for all processing machinery essential to the production of 250,000 litres per annum of fresh pressed apple cider along with a storage capacity of up to 110,000 litres. The storage capacity should be made up of a variety of different capacity vessels that can be used for fermentation, maturation and blending. The total process will bring the product from delivered apples (in bins and in trailers) through the washing, milling and pressing stage, through fermentation, storage of base ciders, blending and filtration, and final storage of blended ciders. We will not require any expressions related to pasteurisation, carbonation, bottling or packing.

 

Please include commissioning costs in the cost of the equipment and in the case of tanks please also include the cost of delivery to Co. Meath, Ireland.

 

 

1.0     Pass/Fail Criteria:

 

Failure to provide the information set out in items 1 to 4 will result in the tender not being considered.

 

1.1Provide evidence of ability to supply, install and commission the equipment on site and provide user training to schedule.                                  Pass/Fail

 

1.2Provide evidence of ability to finance the production of the equipment in each lot until final instalments are met by Juice Hunt Ltd.                          Pass/Fail

 

1.3Provide a copy of a current Tax Clearance Certificate.                            Pass/Fail

 

 


2.0     Non Price Criteria:

 

The following items shall be scored with marks ranging from 0 to 8 with 0 being offered for a very poor or no response and maximum marks being offered for a very good response which exceeds the requirements.

         

 

2.1     Past Experience

          Please submit information relating to the company’s previous experience in supplying similar equipment to the tendered project within the last 5 years, the scale of past projects and the role undertaken within the projects should be set out. Information should also include a description of the project and its similarities to the tendered project, the project cost and the duration of the project.                                           8 Marks

 

2.2     Past Performance

      Please submit information considered relevant to determine the company’s performance in completing past projects to the quality standards required, time performance, within budget, claims history, project management and end product value.                                         8 Marks

 

2.3     Suitability of equipment proposed to achieve production goals

Please only submit recommendations for the one piece of equipment most suited to each stage of production. Take into account the process flow, machinery has to be compatible with other items of machinery immediately upstream and downstream of it, and has to satisfy the output capacity of 250,000 litres within one year (tanks, hoses and sundries excluded).8 Marks

         

2.4     Methodology

          Please demonstrate how the company’s proposes to bring the contract to a satisfactory conclusion by describing the methodology of approach to     accomplish the projects required outcomes. Include all or some of the   following: programme of works, key performance indicators, recording and   reporting systems and a quality plan.                                    8 Marks

 

2.5     Follow up Programme

Please submit details of the follow up programme proposed to be included in the tender figure. This programme should allow for a number of visits to the site within the defects liability period to include maintenance works such as topping up fo surface materials, tightening of fences, adjusting of gates and any other relevant works.                                                  8 Marks


3.       Price Criteria

 

Scores for price are based on the following method (note the lower the price, the higher the score):

3.1     For each lot you are tendering for, please submit your single, lump sum, VAT inclusive tender price including all costs such as Insurances, Bond etc.                                                                                60 Marks
