The objectives of moving to a digital dictation system are: • To support the development and implementation of efficient work flow initiatives within the Hospital • To provide a more flexible method of dictation e.g. inserting, deleting, remote working, etc. • To improve efficient and effective use of secretarial typing capacity. • The system should be easy to use/user friendly. The administrator facility will be required to manage workflow, workload and users. The ability of the system to link with Patients Administrations System (PAS) will also be an important factor. The system should also have the ability to link associated files. The Digital Dictation System must support the development and implementation of efficient work flow initiatives within the hospital.
