DRWRP_SP02 - Dublin Region Watermains Rehabilitation Project

Dublin City Council invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified Consulting Engineers experienced in various methods of reducing water losses in the distribution network to provide consultancy services for the above project. The principal aim of the project is to conserve water by identifying and undertaking works in those areas of the network which will yield the maximum reduction in leakage in the most cost effective manner within the overall agreed project timescales and budget. Techniques that have been employed on the project to date to conserve water include watermain rehabilitation, the installation of pressure reducing valves, optimisation of network layouts and the identification of customer side leakage. The geographical area covered by the project encompasses areas administered by Dublin City Council, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Fingal County Council, South Dublin County Council, Kildare County Council (eastern area), Wicklow County Council (northern area) and Bray Town Council. The region contains over 8,000km of watermains of various materials and ages. Services required will include watermain rehabilitation/pressure management/network design, hydraulic modelling, tender action & evaluation, contract administration, construction supervision, final handover as well as stakeholder involvement and customer communications activities throughout. A project rehabilitation strategy is also required to identify appropriate works yielding the best value water savings. The successful candidate will also be appointed as Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) under the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006. Those applicants that pre-qualify will be invited to submit a tender for the services as indicated in the 'Introduction to Suitability Assessment Questionnaire'. The appointment may be extended to include additional services subject to the Client's approval.
